in the Brecht/Weill masterpiece "The Threepenny Opera". Nick Ellis first
heard the song on the Judy Collins album "In My Life" and resolved to
write a musical around it. An early version of Pirate Jenny was staged
by the Haymarket Theatre in 1999... |
